You’ll have the opportunity to play a key role in building and evolving an AI-powered accounting platform for the energy industry. The position focuses on solving complex data and business challenges across the entire product, from document extraction and accounting logic to data pipelines and user-facing workflows.

You’ll work closely with a small engineering team, owning features end-to-end and contributing across Python, TypeScript/React, data platforms, and PostgreSQL. The role involves turning complex real-world processes into reliable, scalable software where accuracy, security, and auditability are essential.

5+ years in Software Engineering (Sr)

Proficiency in Python and experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks.

Strong experience in TypeScript and React.

Hands-on knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL, including schema design, migrations, and query optimization.

Solid expertise in data pipelines or data platforms, with experience in technologies such as Databricks, Spark, dbt, Airflow, or similar.

Practical experience working with AI coding agents, including directing, reviewing, and validating generated code while maintaining ownership of the final implementation.

Every job requires English proficiency, being based in LATAM.

Bonus Skills

Background in oil & gas, energy, accounting, or ERP systems, particularly revenue distribution, JIB, DOI, royalty accounting, or general ledger workflows.

Knowledge of document processing, including PDF parsing, OCR, layout extraction, or LLM/vision-based data extraction.

Familiarity with Azure, Databricks/Unity Catalog, managed PostgreSQL, or cloud data platforms.

Experience working in SOC 2 or similarly regulated environments, with exposure to security, observability, or compliance practices.

Knowledge of Terraform, Docker, CI/CD, or production observability.

Previous experience as an early-stage or startup engineer, working across product, engineering, and customer needs.

In this role, you'll be expected to take ownership of the following responsibilities as part of your day-to-day work:

Build and improve data-driven product interfaces in React and Next.js, including review workflows, rule editors, mappings, and maps.

Develop and maintain document extraction workflows, transforming operator statements and other complex documents into structured, validated data.

Implement and refine accounting and reconciliation logic, including revenue and deduction rules, allocations, accruals, tie-outs, and variance checks.

Build and maintain integrations and data exports for accounting systems, ERPs, and general-ledger workflows.

Develop and optimize multi-tenant data pipelines using Databricks and managed PostgreSQL databases.

Design and maintain database schemas and migrations, ensuring data remains accurate, consistent, and auditable.

Contribute to platform reliability and security, including tenant isolation, backups and recovery, CI security controls, dependency management, and observability.

Own features end to end, from data modeling and backend implementation through frontend delivery, testing, and production.
