We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong cloud and data engineering chops to join a lean, high-ownership team. The role centers on designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines on AWS, building backend services, and owning architecture decisions across multiple systems — from ETL orchestration to API integrations and infrastructure. If you're equally comfortable modeling data in Redshift, writing production Python, and setting up IaC, this role was built for you.

5+ years in Software Backend Engineering

Experience building and maintaining scalable data pipelines on AWS, with hands-on knowledge of Glue, Redshift, and Lambda

Strong ETL/ELT background: data modeling, transformation logic, and orchestration across structured and unstructured sources

Solid Python skills applied to backend development (FastAPI or Django) and API integrations (REST, GraphQL, webhooks)

Proficiency in relational and non-relational databases, including schema design and query optimization (PostgreSQL + at least one NoSQL platform)

Hands-on experience with IaC (Terraform or CDK), CI/CD pipelines, and security best practices (IAM, secrets management, encryption)

Every job requires English proficiency, being based in LATAM.

Bonus Skills

Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, or React on the backend/full-stack side

Familiarity with PHP/Laravel for legacy system maintenance

Previous exposure to DynamoDB in production environments

Comfortable using AI-assisted dev tools (Claude, Codex, or similar) as part of the daily workflow

Development methodology

Scrum with Agile principles.

Developers start working on tasks once assigned, with prior estimates set collaboratively by the Project Manager and the developer.

Progress updates are shared in daily stand-ups held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Upon completion, developers create a Pull Request and assign it to the lead developer or the last person who worked on that section for review.

Approved PRs are merged into the develop branch, automatically triggering deployment pipelines.

Deployment process

Once a PR is merged into development, AWS pipelines automatically deploy changes to the development environment.

The lead developer handles production releases manually by tagging the develop branch.

Once tagged, GitHub automatically picks it up and initiates the deployment process.

QA process

The Project Manager performs manual QA to validate changes after deployment to the development environment.

Once the QA process is complete, the changes are ready to be deployed to production.
