This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of cloud security, DevOps, and IT operations. The position focuses on strengthening and scaling security practices across AWS infrastructure, while ensuring visibility, compliance, and reliability across systems.

You’ll have the opportunity to drive security improvements in the cloud, working with tools and services such as IAM, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail, and collaborating on audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvements to security posture. The role also involves contributing to platform engineering efforts, implementing best practices, and enhancing observability across the environment.

In addition, the position includes a hands-on component supporting internal teams—providing IT assistance and device management for a distributed team, helping ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

5+ years in Cybersecurity Engineering (Sr)

Solid experience working with AWS, including services such as IAM, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.

Hands-on experience with cloud security, risk assessments, audits, and compliance processes.

Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools, such as Coralogix or similar.

Ability to manage and improve security configurations, logging, and system visibility across cloud environments.

Experience providing IT support in remote environments, including device management (MacOS/Windows) and troubleshooting for non-technical users.

Every job requires English proficiency, being based in LATAM.

Bonus Skills

Experience with third-party security tools or integrations.

Exposure to endpoint/device management tools in distributed teams

3 development teams between 3-5 members:

Development Team: Focuses on improving the user experience of the company's application by adopting new technologies. This includes transitioning from Ruby on Rails Legacy to React for the frontend. They are implementing two APIs: one within Rails and another using Python FastAPI, SqlAlchemy, Snowflake, AWS, and Azure. The migration is handled module by module, with each sub-module having its own React project for easy component sharing.

UX/UI and Product Team: Works alongside development teams to enhance application usability.

DevOps and Infrastructure Team: Manages the operational and infrastructure needs of the application.

Team Structure: 1 Project Manager, 2 QA Engineers, and 2 Developers (including 1 Team Leader).

Development methodology

Scrum - 2 weeks

Standup meetings - every day - daily report from each member.

Planning meetings - once every sprint - all tasks for the next sprint are analyzed, in addition to adding effort points for each task/story (development and QA/testing effort points are added).

Retrospective meetings - once every sprint - the entire sprint is analyzed in general (good things, things to improve, etc.)

Refinement meetings - once every sprint - Technical and product analysis to have all tasks clear so they can be analyzed in the planning.

Demo meeting - A demo is presented for each team where the work and changes made in the sprint are shown.

Deployment process

Once a task is assigned, a pull request must be created; this code must be reviewed and approved by two developers, in addition to meeting a list of ToDos on clean code, good practices, change documentation (release notes), tests, and more.

QA process

QAs can accept the task and approve it for deployment or reject it and create a new ticket in Jira.

What I like most about this project is the work environment, they have very friendly staff, and everyone is always willing to help and collaborate with the team. I am learning and gaining a lot of experience in the technical leadership part.
