Our client is looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Node.js/TypeScript to help build and scale the platform behind a cloud-based SaaS product for the energy industry. In this role, you’ll design and develop robust backend services, APIs, and internal platform capabilities using modern Node.js, strict TypeScript, GCP, containerization, CI/CD, and observability best practices.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex platform challenges, setting strong engineering standards, and building systems that are reliable, scalable, and easy for other teams to use. You’ll take ownership of technical direction, collaborate across product and engineering, mentor others through thoughtful code reviews, and help shape a platform that supports forecasting, economic analysis, and smarter decision-making for energy professionals.

6+ years in Backend Engineering with Node and TypeScript

Hands-on experience with yarn workspaces and modern build tools such as Vite, Vitest, Turbopack, or esbuild, optimized for both dev speed and production output.

Experience designing and versioning internal REST or gRPC services with clear OpenAPI/AsyncAPI contracts and a solid strategy for managing breaking changes.

Hands-on experience deploying Node.js services on GCP (Cloud Run or GKE) and working with GCS and Pub/Sub.

Strong testing culture using Vitest or Jest, covering unit, integration, and contract tests, with solid async mocking practices.

Experience maintaining GitHub Actions pipelines covering lint, type check, test, and deploy, and knowledge of observability tooling such as OpenTelemetry or Datadog.

Working knowledge of Docker and Docker Compose for local and production environments, with attention to layer caching and image size.

Ability to automate build, dev tooling, and operational tasks through Bash scripting, with deep Git fluency including branching strategies and clean history practices.

Every job requires English proficiency, being based in LATAM.

Bonus Skills

Production experience with MongoDB, including schema design, indexing, and aggregation pipelines via Mongoose or the native driver.

Experience building internal tools or dashboards with React, with familiarity with SSR patterns such as Next.js.

Experience building or integrating LLM-powered workflows using tools like LangChain.js or the Vercel AI SDK.
