We are looking for an experienced backend engineer to join a growing team focused on a proprietary AI-powered OCR platform. The platform uses multi-LLM orchestration to extract structured data from PDFs with high accuracy and at significantly lower cost than market alternatives. This role sits at the intersection of AI engineering, backend development, and quality validation.

Development methodology

Scrum with Agile principles.

Developers start working on tasks once assigned, with prior estimates set collaboratively by the Project Manager and the developer.

Progress updates are shared in daily stand-ups held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Upon completion, developers create a Pull Request and assign it to the lead developer or the last person who worked on that section for review.

Approved PRs are merged into the develop branch, automatically triggering deployment pipelines.

Deployment process

Once a PR is merged into development, AWS pipelines automatically deploy changes to the development environment.

The lead developer handles production releases manually by tagging the develop branch.

Once tagged, GitHub automatically picks it up and initiates the deployment process.

QA process

The Project Manager performs manual QA to validate changes after deployment to the development environment.

Once the QA process is complete, the changes are ready to be deployed to production.
